Does my name show up on web cookies?

I am concerned that companies who collect cookies from my visits also save my name.

Depends. If your computer name is just like your name yes. So it means that the name of your computer is the name shown in the cookies. Example if your computer name is COMPUTE the cookie will be: COMPUTE\amazoncookies etc. You can clear your cookies also from mozilla firefox or internet explorer by going on TOOLS and clear private data.

Well web cookies generally store user session information because when the next time the user visits the website which requires authentication system for login the cookies identify the user. If you clean the cookies these cookies will come again next time when you will login. So nothing to worry about.

Typically cookies don't have such personal data on them. That is unless you have provided them with it. Always read the sites privacy statement so you know who will be seeing your information.

When you visit a website, the IP address from your computer is the signature that shows up as a cookie.
