Question by  philosophy (243)

Does FedEx lie about delivery problems when they really cannot meet the delivery demand?

This just happened to me, and I'd like to know if it is a one-off case. They said there was a problem with the delivery address, even though they have delivered to EXACTLY the same address before. I have a sense they were just swamped and wanted alibi.

I have lived in NYC for 13 years and they have lied about "trying to deliver" every single time. I have sat in my apt all day long waiting and they don't even buzz the buzzer. They just leave a sticker that says "they attempted" to leave it. liars!!!!

Couriers code up your pkg and claim they made an attempt and in fact did not.Couriers falsify records and managers falsify time cards!

The stops per hr goals the managers set for the couriers are unreal. To meet the goal many couriers dont fill out door tags & just code up your pkg.

Many couriers DO NOT leave door tags. The managers set the couriers stops per hour on some routes so high, the courier doesnt leave it nor fill it out.

I would certainly hope that it is not corporate policy to willfully lie. Problems do occur - mostly people related. I suggest that was the case and they were not lying!

I have had this at least once a month. I have not moved but they claim my address has changed. The dates change hour by hour on their web site. They also have a habit of not delivering in the time frame if you pay extra for express. There is no reason to pay extra for fast.

That's now happened twice to me. I ordered something and paid the extra money to get it delivered fast to only get it the same day I would have at the regular rate. I wonder if there's a class action lawsuit that will be coming their way about this issue.  add a comment

yes it definitely lies.......... I used to like them, but after my last experience with them, I will have to find another way to get a package delivered. please my advice is that if you cannot deliver it on time dont lie....just say it directly to the customers

Not just you. Happened to me today. Their tracking document says at 7:15am my address was deemed invalid. They've delivered to my address before. I don't even think they tried to deliver it. A holiday is in 2 days. They're probably slammed. Lying jerks!

Fedex also fixes the numbers and falsifies.Scans and locks in bulk stops in at 10:28 a.m. to make service, but actually delivers it at 10:40 a.m.

BTW you can call 1.800.go.fedex and ask to file a complaint about the lying driver. I just found out about this and will be doing this for sure from now on.

I doubt that is corporate policy. Glitches do happen and there are different drivers. What I've found, and it's not just FedEx, is that employees in general are overloaded, contributing to these types of errors. What does help is always including the phone number of the receipient if there is a delivery problem.

I agree that it is probably not corporate policy, but I believe that making excuses has become a part of some of the culture of fedex employees. In my opinion, generally fedex is good and reliable, but as with all companies, they occasionally mess up.  add a comment
