Cervidil is generally given to a pregnant woman to help prepare (ripen) the cervix for the induction of labor. I am uncertain what cervical issues this treatment would be used to clear up post partum. As with any medication or treatment, it is especially important to research all possible side effects of using/being given said medication or treatment.

In my own personal experiences, I've found Cervidil to be very effective in clearing up postpartum cervix issues. I would highly recommend it!

Cervidil gel is what they use to help thin and dilate the cervix when normal labor does not seem to be progressing naturally or fast enough on it's own. Usually this is used in conjunction with pitocin.

No, Cervidil is used to help thin and dilate the cervix. Contractions can occur but since the fetus will have already been born there will be no effect

Cervidil isn't used for those issues. It is used for ripening of the cervix (especially when overdue) to help bring on labor.

It can be used to thin and open the cervix making it return to the way it had been before delivering a baby. It also causes contractions but since the baby will have already been born it will have no real effect.

Yeah it should clear up stuff. I mean I heard it was pretty good at clearing up issues on the cervix. But then again you have got to ask your doctor.

Yes, the most significant effect of Cervidil use is uterine hyperstimulation, with an incidence of 5% to 10% above the incidence in women who did not receive this agent, which is comparable to other cervical ripening formulations, including intracervical prostaglandin gel and misoprostol.
