Usually, yes. They are strong, and very pleasant to look at. They last a very long time - up to 40 years. They are relatively simple and easy to take care of, however, it's important to remember that they will need a very large tank to live in. 75 gallons or larger is best.

No! turtle cannot make a good pet because they carry salmonella. You cannot expect a reflection of love from turtle, as a love forward turtle will always remain one sided.

Turtles are great pets to look at, but not to play with. They can be dangerous for young children because they carry salmonella
