Second, magnesium is necessary to generate the type of tooth enamel most effective at resisting plaque formation. Finally, magnesium is plays an important role in boosting the body's immune system, which may help decrease plaque growth.

Yes it does! Magnesium helps coat the teeth to prevent plaque buildup. While a Magnesium deficiency contributes to gum disease as Magnesium is part of what makes the body's immune system function. So without Magnesium your gums and teeth will be left to deteriorate over time in a very bad and painful way.

No, I don't believe it does. I have magnesium deficiencies and I do not have an over abundance of plaque or a problem controlling my plaque with normal brushing.
