Dogs in heat do have a smell. However, the smell is not usually detecable by people. Usually only other dogs can smell a dog in heat. This is how male dogs find female dogs who are in heat.

Yes. A female dog in heat will put off a distinct scent that lets male dogs know she's ready to breed. This scent can also be picked up in a female dog's urine.

No, dogs in heat do not have a particular smell. It's just fermones (female hormones), which is not something we can actually smell. It triggers male dogs. I'm guessing that male dogs can smell it since they have a good sense of smell.

A dog in heat has a smell that is only obvious and attractive to male dogs, as they can smell it from blocks away. I personally have never noticed any unusual smell during our dog's heat cycle.

Yes a dog in heat will have a particular smell that in most cases arouses the male dog for sexual activity. This is common and part of the dog mating world.

A dog does give off a discernable odor when in heat. It is a slight musty odor to the human nose, but much more pronounced to a male dog. Male dogs will come from miles around when they smell a female dog in heat. Thank heaven for leash laws.
