Do you have to pay federal taxes in the Virgin Islands?

I might possibly be moving there, and I was curious about federal taxes.

Yes, you are subject to federal taxes because the territory is owned by the US. You will still have to file yearly tax returns by April 15th. You will fall into a different tax code because you do not live in the 50 states. A certified accountant could give you an estimate on the tax differences.

If you are a United States citizen, you are required to pay taxes no matter where in the world you live. The only way to get out of paying taxes is to officially renounce your citizenship.
