No. Regular Benadryl is just fine for dogs, as long as used by directed from a veternarian. Dosage is different, so make sure to check with your vet.

Not medical advice: There is not Benadryl for dogs. You may use the OTC Benadryl for humans. Like side effects for humans your dog may experience nervousness and sleepiness consult your vet or speak to your breeder. Good Luck.

They probably do, but Benadryl is just a proprietary name and you're paying for the same antihistimine whether you get it from a vet or over the counter. The more important issue is in the dose of medication. Your vet will give you the exact dosage size.

Benadryl is an antihistamine used for allergies. While it's mostly known for humans, veterinarians do give it to not only dogs, but cats as well. They do have other canine antihistamines on the market. Interestingly enough, Benadryl is used to calm dogs down too!
