Germany is famous for its Christmas Markets. A lot of travel agencies book special Christmas Market excusions, and would probably be a good place to get more information about specific cities and dates, even if you are travelling alone (or not as part of a tour package). Additionally, if you purchase a Europass, you can travel to Austrias markets also.

She couldn't be in a better place for the holidays. This is where Christmas began. I wouldn't worry about her she will be in a great holiday country.
