Rose seeds grow in small fruits called rosehips. These usually ripen in the fall and the seeds can be pulled out then or in the spring.

Yes, the seedpods are called rose hips. Thgrowe juicy red stuff will allow animals to eat the hips and excrete the seeds, with fertilizer and after the seeds are chilled they will grow. If you stratify the seeds in your fridge for a few weeks they will grow, if fertile.

I have read an example of at least one person who grew white roses and they claimed that their roses are full of red seed pods.

Yes, some roses produce seed pods. If you get a rose bush that produces seed pods remove the pods as they take energy from the blossoming production of the bush. The seed pods are actually called rose hips. If the bushes have been fertilized you can take the seeds and grow new bushes.
