Goats rarely contract colds without any apparent cause. However, they can develop respiratory infections when they are being moved or shipped, when they are under stress, or for other reasons. Without treatment, these mild cold-like infections can quickly progress to life-threatening pneumonia. If you are a goat owner and you see your goat with cold symptoms, watch him very closely.

Yes, most living things can get colds. These are typically bouts of coughing, sneezing, lethargy and general crumminess, just like what we would be feeling if we got a cold. The best cure for a minor cold is rest, lots of fluids and a warm dry bedding area.
