Could my sharp sinus pain and clear fluid drainage be related to having a tooth extraction?

Probably not. Clear fluid drainage is not generally indicative of the kind of infection that might result from a tooth extraction. There are many possible explanations for sinus pain, ranging from a cold to dental complications. If the pain and drainage persist, it's always best to give your dentist's office a call for additional guidance.

Yes, you can have some serious problems after a tooth is extracted. If you have not already I would go see your dentist that pulled the tooth as soon as you can. You could be having some serious problems with the extraction area. If everything clears there, it could just be sinuses.

If the tooth that has been removed is an upper back tooth, then it is possible that during its extraction, there was an accidental sinus opening which might cuse these symptoms. The opening usually heals by itself... but if it doesnt, then it might require corrective surgery.
