The V is actualy an Triangle and its one of the 4 signs that made the PS2 famous, Triangle, Square, Circle and Cross

There is no V key on the controller. The only similar thing it could possibly be is the triangle button. Unless you have some custom controller.

This is a notation used to refer to the buttons on the directional arrow pad. < means right, > means left, V means up, and ^ means down. The directional arrow pad is on the left side of the controller and the whole pad looks like a plus sign.

Are you sure it says to press a V key? Are you sure you are not confusing it with the triangle button?
