If he is attached to your comfort and not really the breast, offer milk or juice through a sippy cup or bottle while you hold him close. Sometimes its easier if dad does this since baby will not have expectations of breast milk from mom.

You can start by pumping breast milk into a bottle and allowing another member of the family to feed your two year old. There may be alot of crying in the beginning but eventually they will get hungry or thirsty enough to take a bottle. Even allow him to pick out his own sippy cup.

Start by taking out one scheduled feeding at a time, usually during busy times work best, so mid morning or mid afternoon. Save the bedtime or early morning feedings for last ones to take out.

If you haven't been experimenting with a wide variety of foods, now is the time to try some new things out, maybe finding a few favorites to lure the child away from nursing. Allowing them to buy a special sippy-cup can also make the transition more tolerable.
