Absolutely! It has a lighter texture and is not so filling. Also, an extra bonus of not as many calories. I alway substitute cool whip for whipped cream, in pies, toppings and drinks.

This will work fine but the results will be sweeter than the original recipe. Just like Cool Whip, leftovers will keep best in the freezer.

I always use Cool Whip instead of whipped cream in pie fillings and for topping. It has fewer calories and fat and tastes fine. Just be sure that when you blend the Cool Whip with the pudding, fold it in gently and don't beat.

You can get away with substituting whipping cream fir Cool Whip in chocolate pie. Assuming you whipped the whipping cream and sweetened it with a bit of sugar, it would be a very suitable replacement. Cool Whip is primarily made of oil, and whipping cream is a more natural alternative which would add a delightful richness to the pie.
