Can you provide me with information on a yellow and black bee, that resembles a moth?

I have noticed several yellow and black bees around my front door, they tend to hang around lights, what can you tell me about this bee?

It could be some form of beetle or a fancy moth. They have spray to get rid of them it may take a few applications but it will work if you stick with it.

I don't know of a bee that resembles a moth, but I have seen a a black and yellow moth that resembles a bee. It is called a Hummingbird Clearwing Moth in the US, and Bee-Hawk Moth in the UK. They resemble a bumblebee, but they buzz around more like hummingbirds, hence the US nickname.

What it might be is actually a moth that resembles a bee. The clearwinged sphinx moth resembles a bee because of it's color. The color makes them appear dangerous.

Well it is actually a bumble bee that is around your house. It is very poisonous if it bites you.

my gueess is that you live in florida because I have seen these too I do know that they are not either bees or wasps because they do not have the ability to sting they are some kind of moth not sure of name
