There is no reason to give probiotics to a dog unless recommended by a veterinarian. What is good for humans is not necessarily good for dogs. A healthy dog on a healthy diet maintains a good balance of intestinal flora, so there is no need to feed him supplements unless directed to do so.

Yes you can. There are actually several leading dog food producing companies are starting to sell dog foods that contain probiotics to promote immune health and stamina in your dog.

Pro-biotics are quite good for dogs. Give a heaping tablespoon of plain yogurt once or twice a day mixed in with their food or by itself. This will also help with gas and your dog will love it

Yes, there are several forms, paste, powdered or tablets. Beneficial flora, ie probiotics and prebiotics help the dog to disgest food better, and fight bacteria that may be have been picked up either in food sources or in the dog's immediate environment. A once a day supplement is best.
