Can you give me a really simple recipe for homemade icing?

Nothing that requires cooking. Those never work for me.

A basic recipe is 1 cup sifted icing sugar to 1 TBSP liquid. The liquid can be anything that compliments what it will be used with .. fruit juice or extracts. For a creamer version, a TBSP of butter can be blended into this. Just mix it together and enjoy.

The easiest frosting to make is a chocolate ganache. Place 9 ounces of dark chocolate chips in a large bowl. In another bowl heat 1 cup of heavy cream in the microwave (heating cream really isn't cooking!) till is very hot. Pour the cream over the chocolate, let sit for 2 minutes and then whisk it together. Your frosting's ready!

A stick of butter, confectioners sugar, milk, and whatever flavoring you choose, vanilla, cocoa, peanut butter, whatever. Melt the butter, add sugar until too thick, then smooth with milk.
