Rain forests are typically found within 10 degrees North or South of the equator, and have a high percentage of precipitation, usually between 69 and 79 inches annually. Another characteristic or rain forests is the consistent high temperatures, generally exceeding 64 degreed Fahrenheit. Rain forests are also extremely diverse in animal and plant species.
