Can you buy injectable cortisone for animals over the counter?

I want to give my dog a shot, but I don't have time to make an appointment and go to the vet and all that.

Just like humans, injectible cortisone is only availabe with a prescription. I strongly recommend not self treating any pet, especially with steroids such as cortisone.

Your vet will have to write you a prescription for the cortisone, but you should be able to administer it at your residence. Make a call to your vet and ask if you could pick up a shot of cortisone and a syringe. Caution, he/she may not agree.

Only your vet can tell you what to do. He might prescribe some medication orally, instead of a shot. How do you know what level of shot you can give.

you can not buy injectable cortisone over the counter but you can have your vet write a script for you to take to a pharmacy to have it filled or order a whole bottle at you vets office so that you can give it at home. make sure that the bottle matches what you need

No that is a controled substance and if the vet knows the dog needs the shot you may be able to call and pick one up.
