Thyroid problems will definately cause hair loss problems in any dog, especially yorkies due to their small size. If you take your dog to the vet he can prescribe a medication which will help correct the thyroid problem. Once the thyroid has been corrected your yorkies hair will grow back without a problem.

yorkies do lose their hair because of hypothyroidism, tht is less secretions by throid gland. this happens because of atrophy of gland. this is an auto immume disease where in the body itself kills the cells in gland affecting production of throid harmone.

She should not be losing her hair at all. First of all Yorkies don't shed. That is the reason that they must be groomed. There are any number of medical conditions that can cause air loss and it will take a veterinarian to figure out what condition is causing the hair loss.

Yes, thyroid problems can cause hair and skin problems in dogs. The only way to be sure, though, is to have your dog seen by a vet. The vet can order the proper tests to check your dog's thyroid hormone levels.

Yes. One of the Hypothyroidism's first symptoms is often hair loss. It should, however, be noted that hair loss can be caused by additional medical conditions. Consult your vet.

Many people notice rapid hair loss as a symptom of their hyperthyroidism. When the body is in crisis, the hair cells can shut down and it can cause hair loss.
