Can raccoons attack if you give them food?

Normally a raccoon will not attack unless it feels there is no other alternative. Though you should never feed a wild animal outright, cause you don't know if they are rabid or not. If they are rabid, they will attack. Though, you never know what a wild animal will or won't do.

Yes! Raccoons are what is known as a 'rabies vector species'. This means that they are found to have and transmit rabies in higher numbers than other animals. A raccoon that is around in the daylight and shows no fear of humans is a dangerous animal.

Yes, you should never, ever feed wild animals. The risk for diseases is very high. Also, it is not fair to the animal who must learn to feed himself.

All wild animals may attack, and should be approached with caution. It's never a good idea to feed wild animals. They can find food on their own, and may grow dependent on people who feed them.
