That wouldn't be a good idea. The base is too smooth for the tile concrete (grout?) to stick well. You could drop something kind of heavy and break a tile loose. Marble is not porous enough for the concrete to get a firm hold. Meaning, there would be a serious weak spot where the concrete and marble meet.

The process is similar to laying ceramic tiles over a pre existing concrete floors. Make sure to begin with a clean floor. Then, mix mortar and apply to the floor.

Why would you want to? Marble tiles are significantly more expensive than ceramic and most people are aware of this. If your marble is scratched rent a quality polisher and re-polish the marble, then be sure to seal it with a good sealer.

No, you should not lay ceramic tile on an existing marble floor. The ceramic tile will not adhere to the marble floor, therefore being a complete waste of time. Before laying the ceramic tile you must remove the existing marble floor.Once the marble floor is completely removed than it will be okay to lay the new flooring.

Yes, you just need to rough up the marble, apply a bonding agent and then you can use thinset to lay the tile. No problem.

if the marble is slick, i dont think your new tile is going to adhere. you would have to rough up the marble surface, but i think you are best off removing the marble, and getting down to a firm underlayment.

You should never lay ceramic tile over an existing marble floor. For starters, you don't know what is under the marble floor. For instance, you could have a crack in the slab of the sub floor. You must remove the marble. I know this can be a big job, but it has to be done.
