It would not be reccommended to keep a puppy that young in a crate all day. Puppies need to relieve themselves and get exercise.

I guess you can, but I've learned from crating a jack russell terrier, that they get lonely and want to bark all day. It can make them sick. Also, if you live in an apartment, your neighbors will complain. You can try it, hope it works for you.

No. A puppie's sensitive period is 3-12 wks, that means no yelling, threatening or physical punishment, no crating for more than 20 min, no isolation. Your lab can't stay in a crate all day until he's eight months old. Crating should be an hour for every month of age.
