Can I get braces if the root is in my gum?

No you will not be able to get braces. Braces will not change the fact that the root is in your gum. Usually you need to see a periodontist for that.

If you were told that this condition would prevent you from getting braces, that is probably the case. There would be no reason for your dentist to lie about it, especially since he would make money if you did get braces. If you really think he is a liar or incompetent, get a second opinion from another dentist.

I would think the dentist would have to remove the root in the gum before you could get the braces but seek a second opinion.

If the root is in your gem then you cannot get braces because when it is applied to your gums the root will irritate you and it will cause severe pain
