Can I eat eggs that have been left out all night?

They were sitting on a counter with the thermostat set at 76 degrees.

The health department would say no - that they are not good after 2-3 hours. However, it really depends on how old the eggs are. If the eggs are marked to expire today, then no they would not be good. Eggs lose a day for every hour at room temperature.

The rule of eggs is they must be refrigerated. 76 degrees is hot, the refrigerator degrees is 37. Also I have just read that you should not put eggs on the door of the refrigerator they should be in the carton and set in the coldest spot in the frig.
