Anyone can have a heart murmur. Since it's hard to say what causes it, there are quite a few people who were just born like that.

Yes, though they are most often born with these conditions rather than "getting" them. Children can have problems with heart valves, and dogs are the same. Your vet can tel you whether it is a serious problem; beware, though, there aren't many inexpensive treatments for dogs with this particular problem.

Yes, they can get. Heart Murmurs can occur in children and dogs just as they would in adults. The murmur causes your dog or child's heart to skip a beat or beat irregularly. You have to watch out for this condition because it can be passed on.

Yes both can get this. Anything that has a heart can get this. In dogs there are different causes such as age or birth defect. A common cause is poor dental health. The bacteria causes the heart disease.

Heart murmurs are pretty common in dogs. In younger dogs it is normally congenital but in older dogs it is normally caused by heart valve diseases. They are also common in children. When they are considered innocent heart murmurs they are very faint, coming and going in irregular patterns. They normally do not pose health issues.
