Can asthma get you disqualified from police work?

Every police department has its own regulations. Most require that an applicant be able to pass some sort of fitness test. Commonly, this means running. If the asthma is controlled, it is unlikely to be a problem or disqualify someone. If it is uncontrolled, then they will probably be disqualified.

It all depends on the severity of your asthma. You must be able to complete the 1. 5 mile run, usually required when testing for police departments. In police academy you may very well run double that. I would honestly say talk to your doctor, and stay medicated.

Yes asthma can disqualify you because if you have to chase someone on foot and you have an attack the person would get away. That would be the main reason why.

Yes you can get disqualified from police work and other works like this because asthma is attacking when you are fright of something like a gun or some weapon. You can not even get in police job with asthma but if you lie that you have not asthma you can get in jail easy! Thanks
