A laser is just light, so the effect on the diamond should be just the same as if any other type of light shines through it. You might get a cool effect, though.

No it can not. Laser pointers are actually just colored leds that have lenses in thenm to focus the light. Regular light will not harm a diamond. If you actually had a laser and focused it on the diamond it could do some damage but these are not found in laser pointers its just a product name.

A laser pointer made to use in presentations should be safe for a diamond. These are made with a very low power so that an accidental shining in the eye won't cause permanent damage. I would not expose it for long periods of time though just in case the laser may react with an impurity in the diamond.

It is highly unlikely that a laser could harm a diamond, especially any laser light a customer could buy. A diamond is a crytalized for of carbon that's been compressed under heat and pressure for thousands if not millions of years. A laser, no matter the color, is only light.

No. Diamonds are one of the hardest substances on earth. It takes extreme heat and pressure to change or flaw a diomond and is not something that a commerical laser pointer is going to do some harm to. If it could hurt a diamond think about whatg damnage it could do to your eyes!

The green laser pointer will not be harmed by pointing it at the diamond. The diamond will not be harmed either. Remember, though, that the diamond will melt at 3550 degrees F so keep it out of house fires or car fires.

No, a green laser pointer can not do any harm to a diamont. But it can be very harmful for your sight. Diamond reflects the laser and increases it's power ( it sparkles), which can do suriously damage to your eyes. You must use protection glasses when working with laser.

No. It won't do anything to a diamond. The strength of a laser pointer is no where near what it would take to damage a diamond.

No the laser light will not do any sort of harm to the diamond. However The laser light can and will reflect off of the diamond in multiple directions. The lasers beams reflecting off the diamond however can cause damage to peoples eyes. Some damage is temporary and some damage is permanent .

A laser pointer is just light, no.. a laser does conduct heat. if you read good enough on the web a laser can pop a balloon, light a cig, or even kill an ant. Now if you have one of them cheap 5mW Lasers, they wont do any harm.
