Can a female with one ovary still get pregnant?

I lost an ovary when I was very young and would like to have a baby.

Both ovaries in human women produce eggs. It only takes one egg to get pregnant. Assuming that your remaining ovary is healthy, there is no reason why you cannot get pregnant.

Yes, you certainly can. However since you only have one ovary your chances are for pregnancy are lessened by approximately 50%. If you are concerned about your fertility, it's best to contact your doctor or a good OB/GYN and get an exam and testing done. You should also make sure your partner has a good sperm count.

Yes, a female with only one ovary can still get pregnant. Each month one ovary produces an egg-- so it just means that you will have to time things more carefully. Lots of women without one ovary, or with one lazy ovary have gotten pregnant.

Yes a woman with one ovary can still get pregnant as long as the ovary is producing viable eggs. It may take a little longer than if you had two but you still have a very good chance. See your OB-GYN and have a test done to see how your eggs are producing to ease your mind. Good luck!

Yes. Having just one ovary alone will not prevent you from having babies. You should let your doctors know so they can decide if extra prenatal cautions would be necessary for you specifically. However, generally one ovary will allow you normal reproductive functions.

I was told I would probably have complications with getting pregnant, I have six children at the age of 30. So as long as there are no other problems plan on getting pregnant, because it can work just as good as two.
