All children develop and grow at different rates. Remember when your son was a toddler and just beginning to cut teeth? Most likely, his teeth and that of his peers were all on different schedules then too! But, it's best to ask his dentist. Good tooth and mouth hygiene should be started young so plan a visit to a dentist.

Pre-molars come through around 2 years old. These are baby teeth and will fall out and be replaced with permanent teeth. The first adult molars come in at around 6 years old and then at 12 years old. Wisdom teeth, if they make it, pop up between the ages of 17-21. These usually get pulled.

Four molars are usually in by the first year. They will have a total of twenty teeth usually by the age of two and a half.

there are three sets of molars in the adult permanent dentition, first, second and third molars. The average ages for these to erupt are 6 ,12, and 17. it is not abnormal for a 7 year old child to not have them erupted yet- as 6 is just the average age
