You cannot shoot trespassers who set foot on your land. If you shoot someone who unlawfully entered your home and posed a threat, you must be able to demonstrate that you had good cause to shoot him/her.
You may use deadly force only in self-defense to prevent to death to you or someone else. If an intruder creates a reasonable apprehension of fear of death in you, then you may use deadly force to protect yourself.
