Are water diets safe?

I am wanting to go on a water diet, this is where you cut out all liquid intake with the exception of water.

Let's be clear: diets called "water diets" in the past are extremely UNSAFE! They involve fasting and leeching vital potassium from your body, causing dangerous heart arrhythmias. However, if you plan to eat a balanced diet (lean protein, vegetables, fruits) and have water as your only liquid, that's excellent.

Yes! Water is actually the best liquid for your body, just be sure not to drink more than 2 gallons a day as you can cause over hydration that can thin your blood so badly that it has the risk of stopping your heart. It's actually recommended you drink Eight 8oz glasses of water every day.

As long as you are going to eat it's safe. If you're prescribed any liquid medicines in the meantime make sure you take them. Water is much more healthier than other beverages. It's recommended that you drink 8 glasses of water a day. Instead of fruit juices make sure that you eat plenty of fruits.

I would say this diet would be safe as long as you take vitamins and get proper nutrition in other forms. Don't drink just water and not eat. Not safe.

Water diets are safe but water only diet are not safe as you won't get a balanced food intake resulting in nutritional dificiency. There are some water diets plans in which you can consume food and still lose weight. Go for such types of diet.
