In parts of Northern Europe, it is common to wear the wedding ring on the right hand. In some areas, depending on religion, the engagement ring is worn on the left and the wedding ring on the hand, or the reverse. Traditionally, the right hand is used for wedding rings in Indian culture because the left hand is 'dirty'.

Yes! such as in China, there were no rules for wear a wedding ring on which hand, of course China absorbed so much western cultures now, people start to aware which hand to wear wedding ring. Used to be, from what I know, men wear rings on left hand, women wear on right hand.

Eastern Orthodox Christians wear their wedding rings on their right hands, but they're not the only ones. In many European countries, it is quite common for brides and grooms to wear their wedding rings on their right index fingers. These include, but are not limited to, Germany, Greece, Norway, and Poland.

Oddly enough there are no major cultures where this is common but there is a specific reason for the left hand being used.In the left hand a vein that runs straight to the heart. This is why even in ancient times the left hand was used to symbolize the union of the two also joined through the heart.
