Are raccoons strictly nocturnal?

I need to know more about raccoons.

As a general rule, racoons are nocturnal. They can be seen in the early morning light as well as before sunset. Often one seen during the day is ill.

Raccoons are strictly nocturnal or night time animals. Occasionally you will see them out and about during the day but this is or could be for terriortial purposes. They only come out at night to search for food (they are known to be very sneaky animals). Their diets consist of a variety of living creatures, fruits, or human garbage.
