Are poodles good with children?

I have always wanted a poodle. My husband and I have two children, and he doesn't want one because he says they aren't good with kids.

Any dog can have its quirks, and there can be members of any breed that may or may not be good with kids. Some dogs do have reputations for not being so kind to children, but a poodle isn't one of them. It may also depend on how the child behaves around the dog.

Poodles have a reputation of being high strung but if you get your poodle as a puppy and raise it properly you should have no problems.

My family had a miniature poodle when I was growing up. It was a very sweet little dog. Maybe your husband had bad experiences with a poodle. Some dogs are known for certain personalities due to breed, but that is not always the case. It all depends on the individual dog's personality.

Your husband is wrong. Poodles are virtually on every top five dogs for kids list published. They are actually very seldom annoyed and have excellent patience. They are also good for kids with allergies. This is why they are great for kids.
