Are flea drops the best way to go?

There are pills that kill fleas, too. Are they better?

Really, you should ask your vet. However in my experience over many years, I've found the flea drops to be a total godsend- easy to administer, not messy, very effective. If your dog has an infestation though, you need to treat the house, get a professional de-fleaing, and then resume use of the drops. You MUST follow the instructions.

Topical flea treatments are the most commonly used and are very effective (depending on the brand). Some of the flea drops are multi-purpose and can protect your dog from more things such as ticks, ear mites, heartworms... etc. I personally would use a topical also because it is less invasive.
