Fish flakes are definitely an appropriate form of food for fish, but there are several other types of food as well. Various food include flakes, pellets, crisps, freeze-dried and frozen. Fish flakes or pellets should be fed most often and freeze-dried and frozen food should be offered as a supplement a few times a week.

Yes, fish flakes are the best choice of food to feed fish in an aquarium. Fish food flakes contain all the necessary vitamins and nutrients that fish need to survive. And fish flakes float on the top of the water better than the tiny pellets that sink.

Most commercial fish flake food is designed for the home aquarium. Flake food has all the nutrients your fish need and some color enhancers to keep the fish's coloring bright.

Yes, fish flakes are the best thing to feed your fish because they are manufactured to contain all the nutrients your fish will need to stay healthy. Each flake is like a prepackaged meal for them, so you don't need to buy anything else.

Flakes are good for most tropical fish (especially species you'll be keeping as a beginner) but some bottom-feeders will have trouble with a pure flake diet. Catfish and bottom dwellers like shrimp pellets, algae eaters like algae disks, and some upper level fish like bloodworms or live foods.
